In de foto albums van de kunstschilder Poen de Wijs trof ik veel foto’s aan die hij samen met zijn vrouw, kunstschilder Marion van Nieuwpoort heeft gemaakt in Kenia/Afrika. Ik herkende op de foto’s mensen (en dieren) die door Marion en Poen zijn getekend en geschilderd. Zo kwam ik op het idee om een digitaal boek te maken waarin ik de foto’s en de uiteindelijke artistieke resultaten laat zien.

The photo albums in the archive of the Dutch painter of Realism Poen de Wijs, yielded a lot of photos he took in Kenya/Africa, together with his wife Marion van Nieuwpoort (also a panter). I recognised people (and animals) in these photos they had been drawn and painted by Marion and Poen. And that spawned the idea for this digital book: combining the photos and the ultimate artistic results.
